As I was reading an article about the plight of long-time residents in gentrifying areas, Third Ward, one of the residents mentioned he knew the end was coming when a gay retirement center moved into the neighborhood. I thought he was trying to be facetious but it turns out there is one in third ward! The first of its kind. I had no idea! News on this must have been scarce.
