Any help for a felon?

This for a friend who used to be in IT doing systems admin and engineering for a little less than 7 years. She young at 25 and got into some legal trouble and ended up with a felony assault conviction 1 count about 3 months ago. She's never been in legal trouble before besides a DUI at 21. She needs help finding a job or just inspiration on finding a job for her; CompTIA Security+ certified. She just moved to Houston, TX. I want to help my friend out, If anyone can drop some information, tips, advice, companies or something that I could show her. Maybe she should look at some other certifications? No judgment, please.
