Help with a friend and their abusive family

Trying to find resources and help in the Houston area for a friend who’s been stuck with their abusive family (brother and mother) for a while. They constantly put them down and insult them. (They’re trans so you can imagine the s**t they say) they’re forced to get a job, which I understand, we’re it not for the fact their mother basically takes all their pay and only gives what she thinks they need. So they can’t save up to move out or do anything.

The reason I didn’t say anything sooner was my friend asked not to get involved, but I found out this morning that after we stopped playing games last night, their family apparently beat them and gave them a black eye.

I can’t stand back anymore and something needs to be done before they get kicked out of their home (again), or get killed.

I would go confront them but because I live in Katy and they live in south Houston, between obligations at home and college classes, it’s hard to find time to go and with COVID, my family doesn’t want anyone to go out.
