Austin stands out in race for potential $17B Samsung chipmaking plant, site selector says

Technology giant Samsung Electronics is reportedly looking to build a multibillion-dollar chipmaking plant in the U.S. in Austin, Phoenix or upstate New York. The Korean giant has had a presence in Austin for more than two decades. That is one of the reasons a site selector said the Texas capital “should be a much easier sell versus upstate New York or Phoenix.”
