Here’s How Houston Did at the 2025 Michelin Ceremony

The second Michelin Texas guide ceremony took place Tuesday, October 28, at the Wortham Theater Center. No new Houston restaurants received a star this year, but ChòpnBlọk, Annam, da Gama Canteen, Maximo, and Papalo Taqueria took home Bib Gourmands — recognition of great food at great prices.
That Houston didn’t receive a new star is a little bittersweet. Yes, there was nothing new (bitter), but BCN Taste & Tradition, Corkscrew BBQ, Le Jardinier, March, Musaafer, and Tatemó all retained their Michelin star from 2024 (sweet0.
Houston did win one of the four special awards with Elliot Wood of Credence, earning the Michelin Outstanding Service Award, which recognizes exceptional hospitality and attention to detail.
In the broader Texas picture, Dallas’ Mamani took home a star after having its doors open for just two months. San Antonio’s Isidore and Nicosi, both from Austin’s Emmer & Rye Hospitality Group, were this year’s other one-star additions. Austin’s Nixta Taqueria earned a Green Star for sustainability and forward thinking gastronomy.
Michelin Guide Texas now includes 18 starred restaurants statewide, with six in Houston and surrounding areas.
Yet again, no two or three-star restaurants were awarded anywhere in Texas.
