Realistically does Tillman Fertitta have the money to own and be competitive with 3 teams?
So he already owns the Houston Rockets. If the rumors are true, and he is actively working and leading the cause to bring a NHL team to Houston. Which who knows when that will happen, but i'm sure it will eventually. The other thing is houston is also the leading candidate to bring a WNBA team to Houston as well, which is he also going to be funding. We know they lose money and we also have zero idea how either team will do when it comes to building the fanbase. For instance I figured the Houston Roughnecks would be a shoe in for having a gigantic fanbase considering Houston and Texas in general is a football town, yet they were having attendance issues and merchandise issues so bad they almost moved the team and had to downsize the stadium. We are not a basketball town and couldn't even properly support a minor league hockey team. Yet we think we will bring in enough revenue for either? Not to mention that Houston is not only a heavily mixed city here with a ton of "Houstonians" being transplants and not caring about houston teams but you also have the fact that houston people do not attend games unless you're a proven winner and it makes good for a corporate outing or social media views. Just overall. I LOVE more sports here and would probably get season tickets for the WNBA, but man… I just feel like that's a lot of responsibility for a guy billionaire or not.
