Duck at Hermann Park might be a dumped pet and needs help

There’s a young duck hanging around the McGovern Promenade at Hermann Park between Sunday Press/Ginger Kale café and the main gate of the Houston Zoo. She really seems like someone’s dumped pet. She won’t go in the water, isn’t interested in food, but follows anyone who gives her attention. She’s very comfortable with people and will even let you hold her, but she’s been scratching herself a lot and whining. I called the 24 hour animal ambulance, but they said there’s not much they can do since she’s not injured. They suggested taking her home and turning her in to Houston Animal Control, but I’m homeless so that’s not really an option for me.

If anyone can help her or knows a rescue that takes ducks, please check near the McGovern Promenade by Sunday Press/Ginger Kale. She’s still hanging around there.
