Meet Dawn Aisha: Pro Makeup Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dawn Aisha and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dawn, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Doing makeup is my passion and I love making people feel beautiful . I also love teaching makeup lessons, showing individuals how to enhance their beauty . 

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What I’m most proud of is my growth when it comes to me as an artist and my work from over a decade ago . It has not been easy over the years, especially with everyone wanting to be a Makeup Artist because it’s a “trend” on social media. I’ve learned that building relationships and networking will take you SO far. It doesn’t just stop here for me, I’ve a YouTube channel and I have other projects in the works .

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well as many know, Houston has sown of the best food in the United States. Yes, it’s true ! I would take them to a few of my favorite spots for brunch such as the Breakfast Klub. I love a great steakhouse, we would definitely do Vic & Anthony’s for dinner or Steak 48 . There’s also a few Mexican Restaurants that have the best food and drinks like Balderas, Tia Maria’s and of course, I love Pappasitos. One of my favorite spots to visit is the Museum of Natural Science and this list could go on!

I want to send a special shout-out to all of my clients. I appreciate their dedication to me, their loyalty and referrals over the last 17 years I’ve been in the industry.
