Anyone in Houston gone through a prenup?

My partner and I are planning to get married next year and we’ve started talking about money stuff. I brought up the idea of a prenup and it didn’t go over well. They said it feels like I don’t trust them. For context I’ve been saving for years and recently bought a small condo near Midtown. It’s nothing fancy but it’s mine and I worked hard for it. I just want to be sure it’s protected. The problem is, I have no idea how prenups even work in Texas or if they’re common here. Do they actually help in a community property state?
