What things about the Houston area do you wish you knew before you moved here?

Not necessarily things that would have prevented you from moving here, but what information would you have found useful? Like, the reasons why HEB is so popular, or the differences in neighborhoods, or when to expect traffic to get really bad near the NRG stadium because of football games, etc. What kinds of things do you wish you knew before moving to Houston?
