Why I don’t think the loss to the Rams is as bad as some think, and why I’m optimistic about the Texans’ offense.

I took a few days to really go back through the Week 1 loss to the Rams. Yes, the offense struggled, and a lot of the same frustrations popped up (penalties, tempo, and too many 3rd-and-longs). But when you put it in context, I don’t think the loss is nearly as bad as it feels. The Texans went toe-to-toe with a contender, had the ball in the red area with a chance to win, and there were some promising signs worth pointing out. In this deep look I break down: • Why context matters (Week 1 unknowns, O-line shuffle, missing vets) • C.J. Stroud under pressure + how he handled it differently than last year • Promising offensive wrinkles despite the struggles • The defense’s strong night with a few costly lapses • Key stats, highlights, film clips, and soundbites that tell the full story If you came away frustrated, I get it, but I think you’ll see this game in a different light after digging in.
