Upfront dentists who don’t over-diagnose and actually do insurance pre-approvals? (within 610 loop)

I’ve spent a few more hundred dollars than I’m comfortable with in just the last 6mo at The Village Dentistry in RV. Had a routine dental exam a few months ago and was recommended to get a deep cleaning and replace a crown. Ok, fair — I’ve always had bad luck with my teeth with two root canals and plaque always accumulating around my permanent retainers. They accept my insurance (Humana) and I trusted their judgement, so I went along with it and paid half upfront. During my follow-up weeks later, I was told my claim was denied and I had to pay $500+ out of-pocket. Um, ok I guess..? And then, during another visit (bc I STILL continued to have random flare-ups of pain/inflammation even after the procedures), I was told something else was denied and now I had a $330 balance! WTF BRO. After talking to my insurance, I was informed that my procedures were deemed “not medically necessary.”

Needless to say, I’m wondering if anyone could highly recommend another dentist that’s upfront, transparent, actually goes through the pre-approval process, and doesn’t over-diagnose?
