Low maintenance drainage ditch plants

Hi r/Houston. I have a little townhouse with a tiny amount of drainage ditch/streetfront. It was getting pretty overgrown so I spent the morning cleaning it out, pulling out weeds and digging it out a bit to get better water flow. Now I’ve got a bunch of bare dirt where the overgrowth used to be. What should I put there instead? Some kind of grass or ground cover plant? Any suggestions? It’s a tiny space and my only “yard” so I don’t even own a mower, just a weed whacker. Less maintenance is better for me. Open to suggestions.
