Single mom homeless in HTX. UPDATE: WE ARE HOUSED!

Hi, everyone! ❤️ I’m the single mom from the "Single mom homeless in HTX" post. I just wanted to give a quick update to you all who showed so much love and concern for us. We are now housed! It took so long and me and my kids were so exhausted being homeless in the Houston heat, but God and you all came through for us and the storm is over!

I want to thank every single person on that post that went out of their way to provide resources and contacts to get us out of this situation. We are eternally grateful for each and every one of you. We thank God that He put us in a space to cross paths with you. It is because of YOU that we are no longer afraid. Because of YOU we are safe. After sex trafficking attempts on us, being terrified for our lives, living outside in 100-degree heat, being treated like we weren’t human beings because of our situation, it is because of YOU that we have a home.

A special thanks to Brittany, Chris, Coco, Erica, Glitch (333), Kyra, Logan, Mariana, Richter, Timanno, and Troy for keeping us afloat while we reached out to and tried to utilize those resources and get the ball rolling.

God works in mysterious ways. I never ask anyone for help, and I was so terrified to make that post on Reddit because of the inhumane treatment I faced on TikTok. I was called a scammer, a liar, saying I don’t want to work and want free handouts even though I have worked up until I was let go of my job everyday of my life since I was 16 to escape my abusive mother. I have always had a job, and when I finally got up the nerve to ask for help, I was reminded of why I never do. People did not know my story, but wanted to tear me down.

I came to Reddit expecting to get the same treatment. I prayed about it and then posted. And when that happened, a massive outpouring of love and kindness followed. You all restored my faith in humanity. I couldn’t believe so many of you cared.

I just want to say thank you all for BELIEVING me. Me and my children were suffering immensely, and NO ONE would help. Thank you all for seeing my story and TAKING ACTION. Thank you all for seeing US when we had been ignored for so long. We are so grateful that God put it on your hearts to do what you all did for us. I now want to make it my mission to bless others as soon as I get back on my feet thanks to you all. I believe EVERYONE deserves to feel the love I felt from you all. It was like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. God bless you all!

One of the amazing people who helped us (God bless you Mr. Emmanuel) has created an Amazon Wishlist for us to further help us re-establish ourselves. The link is on the bottom of the post if you would like to take a look. There is also a special message on there for you all.

We are so grateful for the room we’re in because we are not outside and can stay as long as we need to, but we have no access to a kitchen and other necessities. You all have shown me that I do not need to be ashamed to ask for help, especially when it comes to my children. We appreciate everything, big or small. We love you all so much, and I wish I could hug every single one of you.

Thank you all again for EVERYTHING that you did for us. ❤️ I can never repay you for everything you did for us, and even for our mental states. I WILL pay it for and make it a point to be a blessing to any and everyone in whatever way I can for the rest of my life. By the grace of God we are home! God bless you all!
