HBO – In the eye of the storm S02E01 Derecho

Anyone else feel they missed out on the HUGE amount of damage and scary situations all across NW H-town?? I live in Spring Branch and prior in JV and Cypress. I fell the episode really missed a HUGE issue with the aftermath of the derecho…NO POWER and huge damage due to downed trees!!!

We had 100+ MPH winds in Spring Branch, trees down in to homes, onto cars and yards. Even still in August 2025 have unrepaired homes in our area.

We went 8 days no power, my son is a T1D so insulin was a huge concern (you can prep somewhat for hurricanes)!

I pulled and chopped fallen trees to get out of our neighborhood to get to my son and other neighborhood kids at school that wjere there for after school sports.

Some of the best YouTube vids I've seen are from people with dashcams off 290 near the beltway where the tornado hit!! They didn't even cover the crumbled power line towers.

I just wish the true devastation of the derecho in Houston would have been shown and not just the blown out windows downtown. 🤷‍♀️
