.558 and beyond

43 games into the season and your 2023 Astros are at a .558 winning clip. That's on pace for 90 wins. Has the offense been pretty? No… but they are still making it happen.

We have yet to play 13 against the atrocious A's. We have yet to see Altuve play a game at the major league level this year. We've got Abreu and Bregman with OPS+ below 100, and I'll buy the dip on that all day and twice on Sundays. We are first in the AL in ERA, and we've got beat writers acting like this team has scabs pitching every other day.

Your Houston Astros are coming off of 5 ALCS's and two World Series rings. These guys know how to play and how to make a 162 game season run. Hate him or love him, the last time Dusty wasn't involved in major league baseball in some capacity, America hadn't even been to the moon yet. This team knows what a 162 game season and rhythm looks like, and wins like last night remind me that they are going to steal games from the jaws of defeat to get back on pace for another 95+ win season.

We are some lucky fans. Let's enjoy this ride and be as confident and steady as this franchise has been over the last half decade.
