5 things to know today plus Houston celebrates a new app

With all the rain we’ve been experiencing — and the subsequent Jurassic mosquito invasion — I can’t think of a more perfect time for the Space City Weather app. The app launched on June 3, much to the delight of pretty much anyone who walks out their door in the morning in Houston. In fact, Mayor Sylvester Turner even declared June 8 Space City Weather Day.

So, don’t worry, Houston. We won’t be caught unaware of any hurricanes or ice storms in the future — hopefully.
