5 things to know today, including a new highway closure and more

Happy Friday, Houston! And once again, there’s a big highway closure this weekend as part of the $259 million interchange project near the Galleria area.

All northbound and southbound mainlanes of I-69/Southwest Freeway at the I-69 West Loop will close from 9 p.m. tonight until 5 a.m. Monday. The same closures will happen the next two weekends: May 13-16 and May 20-23.
