Read MoreCurrently renting, looking to get into a house. Fell in love for a brand new house in Dayton with builder motivated to sell below asking.
I don’t know much about Dayton, and was hoping folks here may provide some insight on things like crime, flood risk, etc.? I currently live in Meyerland, and like that I’m close to everything. But traffic each morning headed to IAH, where I work, is horrible. Not to mention, houses in Meyerland are old home remodels that run over $500k, with potential for flooding and foundation damage.
In Dayton, the custom home I saw has almost an acre of land for less plus an awesome new built home for well under that. Just don’t know if living in such a small town is gonna work for me. Not sure if anyone has made a transition from Houston to small town, particularly in Dayton? Also, is Dayton going to continue growing? After all, this home is an investment and would like for it to appreciate in the future.
