Hi so I will get straight to the point.

Someone I know was assaulted/robbed/kidnapped last week (he is physically fine now), and he has still not gone to the police. My friend is scared that the police will try detain him, because he is here illegally.. I told him that the police are more concerned with finding a violent criminal than they are about him not having papers…. and that he should report it… but I just wanted to check with you folks to see if there has been any issues of police officers here not looking the other way on immigration status here in H (as a victim of a violent crime). Like I said, I am almost 100% sure the police don’t give a s**t, but I would feel terrible if something *did* happen.

Anyway, sorry if it was a stupid question, just wanted to make sure he will be okay. Sorry it it was worded shitty, I am typing this quickly at work so we can get this done today or tomorrow.

On Tuesday (3/15) at around 2:45 PM I was driving in the right lane of Southwest Freeway, around 0.3 miles from turning right onto Bellaire Blvd (Google Maps had just told me to turn right at the intersection) when a 2006-ish silver Toyota Highlander merged into my lane, hitting the left passenger door and causing my car to go 3 lanes over to the left. After both of us stopped, the driver, a male, aged 25-35 who was wearing aviator sunglasses and a black shirt/jacket, looked at me before speeding away. I couldn’t get a good look at his license plate before he fled unfortunately.

I know it’s a long shot, but does anyone have any information about this that I could report to the police? Thanks.
