Broncos Fan Coming In Peace with Questions about David Culley

I guess my main question just kind of boils down to . . . “huh?”

We hired Vic, and I think he’s the oldest guy to get his first HC job or the longest tenured position coach before getting his first HC job – something like that. Anyway, after 2 rough seasons, he looks pretty good. So I’m not opposed to longtime coordinators finally getting a shot – I think they can bring some unique things that young, offensive-minded upstarts may not be able to. But Culley just looks like he doesn’t have a clue – am I wrong?

His decision to punt on 4th and 4 from the Panthers’ 39, his absolute refusal to throw the ball in almost the entire first half, and his decision to decline the penalty to give him 3rd and 10 last week and just punt last week have me wondering how/why this guy is possibly a HC?

Is this really just about tanking? Does he have an upside that I’m not seeing?
