Let’s get the Watson situation out of the way first:

The current status is accused of sexual misconduct; however, nothing has been proven or even taken up by criminal proceedings to date. It’s a huge game of he-said she-said between known ambulance chaser Tony Buzzbee and apparently the only other attorney in Houston, Rusty Hardin.

The only real facts we have are that Watson used (please be past tense and not on-going) Instragram to hunt masseuses for sexual means. While not illegal, it’s not a good look for the face of your franchise to maximize his nut through pervy encounters. Technically a step up from Auto-Erotic Asphyxiation I guess?

Onto Football

This marks the first season with 17 regular season games.

There will be only 3 pre-season games (down from 4).

The Texans have released their first official Depth Chart, mostly no surprises.

On offense:

• Watson is listed as 4th in the QB standings
• Tytus Howard, even though he bounced around inside during training camp, is listed as starting RT
• Justin Britt, out last year, should be ready to dominate at C this year
• Collins is listed as last on WR depth, I expect that to change
• Quessenberry is listed as FB on the roster

On Defense

• Texans are switching to a 4-3 defense this year
• Merciless is now listed as DE, probably a better use of his skillset, he could go off this year
• Shaq Lawson is not listed as a starter, probably holding him back as precaution

The roster is what it is: laden with potential, which is a nice way of saying it could all go great…or not.

The Offensive Line should be much improved, let’s hope we get a Tyrod Taylor who wants to prove himself, maybe a David Johnson who is ready to return to 2016 form?
