Houston/Galveston based sailors – looking for info

Planning to move to Houston in a couple years and starting the research phase now. Planning to live aboard on a sailboat out there part time; wanted to see if there are any other sailors / liveaboards that can point me in the direction of useful info on the Galveston Bay.

I am doing some independent research, including actually going out there and checking out marinas and anchorages firsthand, but I’m having trouble finding info other than marina sites and cruising guides that are 10-15 years old or more, so I thought it might be useful to put feelers out here as well for some of that up to date insider knowledge.

I don’t have access to fb, so unfortunately that will limit me with engaging with any sailing communities using that.

Thanks for the help!
