If you did, I wanted to let you know I’ve still got him and he’s doing awesome. He’s about a foot long now and has been living in a 125 gallon with a lot of friends and live plants this whole time. Background: I went into Aquarium world hoping to buy an eel, but they didn’t seem to have any. I talked to the sales person about ordering one and they told me a story about a little boy who always wanted an eel and saved up his money to buy one and all the gear that goes with it. Eventually the eel outgrew his tank and this child demonstrated responsibility well beyond the average adult fish keeper by returning him to the store so they could find him an appropriately sized home. The sales people weren’t advertising the eel because they wanted to honor the little boy’s wishes by making sure he found a home that was the right size for him. submitted by /u/Osr0 |
