Read MoreI am preparing for a move to Houston for a job downtown. I have not been to Houston but was told to consider midtown since it is close to my job. I have done several virtual apartment tours and about to sign a lease with one in Midtown. HOWEVER, I’ve been looking at KHOU and notice a significant amount of shootings, burglaries, and crime in that area, well Houston in general. When I talked to the apartment complex I was told that the area is safe and they barely have any problems except homeless people. MY QUESTION IS MIDTOWN GENERALLY SAFE OR SHOULD I CONSIDER LOOKING AT ANOTHER LOCATION? Realtors have not been much help either and coming from out of town, I don’t know what to do or what areas to stay in or avoid.
