Thanks, anonymous pizza donator!

I worked at the polls for a bit during early voting. Someone donated 10 (!!!) pizzas for the clerks & judges at our location Friday.

I clocked in at about 75 hours this week. Early afternoon on Friday, we got slow and I felt like I might fall asleep at the check in table. I had been trying to decide if I should take a nap on my break, or if I should go grab some fast food to eat.

That pizza gave me the chance to eat AND nap.

I was able to work the last 3 hours of early voting with a clearer head.

Anyway, thanks for all y’all that voted. I honestly enjoyed helping so many people out, even when I didn’t like who they were voting for. (y’all please don’t tell us who you are voting for, omg). In several cases I had people come in that seemed very anxious about the process / voting machines – and left surprised and happy with how easy it was.

How bad are trick or treaters in your area right now?

I live in a nice area in the south side, and I’ve never seen it this bad. Not a single mask in sight, HUGE crowds with cars blocking any way in or out of the neighborhood. A group actually roped off the roads with yellow tape, and nobody is being let in or out. I’ve been in this neighborhood since ’84, and I’ve never seen such entitled behavior. We are literally parked in our neighborhood park waiting for Constables to let us in. Has COVID and other social issues just made people nuts?
