We recently bought a new home and the existing tree is damaged due to mulch build up around the base; we are trying to save it but we’re not sure if it will live. A new tree was planted but it’s planted way too deep. The issue with both of these trees is that the roots are not getting proper oxygen. I didn’t know this until an Arborist came by to diagnose our sick tree, but landscapers do not know this at all and I’m worried about all of the sick and dying trees out there in Houston unbeknownst to their owners.
