Good afternoon fellow vets and kickass civilians! A couple of vets from other states are planning their ruck marches in their respective cities in support of SPC Guillen. I wanted to see if there was anyone in/around the Houston area who is willing to participate in one here locally. I planned a route out that’s 1.25 miles long. It’s short, so I’m open to alternative routes or different places altogether.

A ruck is walking from point A to point B with a backpack or rucksack.

Here’s what I suggest for the event,
– Wear comfortable clothing
– Bring a water source (enough to stay hydrated)
– Wear a facemask (or whatever you currently use)
– Any signs in support of the cause (if you want to)

I highly recommend following the social distancing rules! Any additional input would be much appreciated.

Vanessa was a fellow Houstonian, so I wanted to organize the march in her memory.

I’m cleaning out my home office to make space to create a classroom type environment for this upcoming school year. I have 6 class sets of books (20) and several other books for kids. In total I have 168 books. I know I won’t be using them this school year nor I do I think any teacher will want to let kids borrow books if and when we go back. Any suggestions on where to take them or should I just try half price book store?

Books are geared towards middle school level students.
