Read MoreHi all,
I recently graduated and had my start date at my job deferred several months. I am looking for another job, but I’m not having much luck. Working at a grocery store or something is not really possible because my SO has an autoimmune disorder. Under the CARES act, it seems that graduates whose job offers were rescinded or delayed are eligible for unemployment. However, Texas’s unemployment application does not have an area that I can see where I can clarify this situation. (The options are things like laid off, fired, quit.. my situation is closest to a temporary layoff, I suppose, but not exactly).
I’ve been trying to call the unemployment office but to no avail. I can’t get through to a person. Does anyone have any advice/thoughts?
