Read MoreSo, i’ve had a stop sign in my lawn for a while now. I honestly hate it, as people like to throw trash in my yard. (Someone even smashed a beer bottle on my mailbox and i didn’t see the glass till i stepped in it. Thankfully i wear thick-souled shoes.) But i mind it cause i have to.
Now, my grandpa owned this house when it was put in his lawn, he’s recently no longer with us, so most of the responsibility has fallen on to me. He never got a chance to pass on all that he wanted to, so I have to ask…
What are the rules about it?
Do i have to fix it if it falls over?
If it’s destroyed by some dingus, is it my problem? (Like it was when they ran over my first mailbox)
Can i put my garbage can by it? (My sidewalk ends right next to it.)
We have a small driveway, i know typical rules parking around stop signs, but does that change in a congested neighborhood?
What can i do about people throwing trash in my yard?
I dunno. I tend to overthink little things. I just don’t want to get a ticket right in front of my house, or at all really.

I’m considering a job offer in Houston that would be in Greenway Plaza. Unfortunately due to the pandemic I’d have to make my decision without ever having visited Houston.
I’m a big fan of walkable areas. While I do enjoy driving as well, my ideal Sunday would involve sleeping in late, taking some CBD, and then casually walking around the neighborhood for some coffee and eats.
I’m fortunate to be making enough to comfortably live across the street from my office in Upper Kirby / Greenway Plaza should I choose so. As someone in his mid 20s, is super single, and has a strong affinity for walkability as described above, would Midtown definitely fit me much better than Upper Kirby?
On a side note: what would the drive during rush hour be like from the SW edge of Midtown to Greenway Plaza? Unfortunately again due to the pandemic I can’t get a realistic estimation from maps right now. Google / Apple maps are showing me a ~10m drive.

Me and my sister were sitting in her truck talking and I notice a extremely bright light in the sky. I first thought it was an airplane or a satellite but it was really bright. I asked my sister if it was a plane and she said she didn’t think so its probably just a really bright star or a satellite. We brush it off and continue on with conversation then this fucking thing starts blinking really fast and starts to dim out then just fucking disappears…
When I saw it start to blink I asked my sister if she saw it and she was like “The light getting dim?! Hell yes, I see it!”, and we watched it disappear and was basically like wtf for the next 30mins. There wasn’t any clouds in the sky,in that spot at the time, even though after it was pretty cloudy.
If I would’ve saw it on my own I would probably brush it off as me trippin. I thought to record it when I was initially all “Wtf is that?”, I concluded it was a satellite so I didn’t. And then was all ” Damn, I should’ve been recording!” afterwards, Lol.
What do you think it was or did anyone else see it ?
