What makes you optimistic about the future?

So forget all the fire BoB/Crennel stuff, as it looks like nothing will change and this isn’t a thread for people to bitch.

So even if you don’t believe it, what are the positives that give us hope for next season and beyond?

I know there’s the obvious like hopefully having Fuller healthy, Watson has a full healthy year under his belt, etc., but I guess I’m referring more to things like:

  1. What makes this defense successful under a 72 year old coordinator?
  2. What are the positives in having a HC that is also the GM and the offensive coordinator?
  3. What were we missing last year that we think will be improved next year (either because guys are healthy or we think we’ll sign key needs during the off-season)?

I can’t say I’m very optimistic right now, but I’m not an intense football strategist so I’d love to know that there’s a path forward to the next level other than just wishful thinking. Like others, I want to put this year behind me and be excited about next year.
