2 week mini road trip starting and finishing in Houston for a 30 year old British couple?

Hello!

Myself and my wife have just booked flights for 15 nights in Texas in June starting and finishing in Houston. We’ve both visited the US but never together and Texas is top of both our bucket lists as neither have been. We are both 30 years old, English, enjoy history and museums, natural sights but also the stereotypical cliche type of things. Neither of us are big drinkers but we are both big foodies. Big cities are cool and no doubt unavoidable to see some main attractions but smaller traditional places is what we are also looking for. If somewhere warrants more time that’s fine but we don’t mind being on the road a fair bit. We’re looking at renting a vehicle with Turo app.

I asked ChatGPT to write an itinerary based on my preferences and this is where I’m at. Could you guys help me with recommendations for any changes to this plan? Are we squeezing too much in? Are we missing anywhere major?

Any info hugely appreciated!
