2.5 week old kitten needs a home

Hello all,

I'm visiting my girlfriend who is about to start school in Houston. We found a 2.5 week old kitten in the middle of a road and got it out of there. No way of getting it back to the mother… we are taking the best care of it we can tonight but I am flying out soon and she will be too busy to care for a newborn kitten. I've read that houston shelters are swamped and it's unlikely to get this little guy in anywhere, and I am concerned about him being euthanized anyway. Is there anywhere with space that won't euthanize? Even if someone could just care for the kitten until 8 weeks old, she would probably adopt it and be able to care for it after bottle feeding, etc is over.
