1B Situation is even worse than it looks on paper

Was at yesterday’s game. I have never seen such abhorrent plate appearances as I did when Abreu was AB. That includes Maldy. To say he looks lost doesn’t even accurately describe it. This isn’t a swing mechanic issue where his timing is not tuned up or he isn’t squaring up the ball.

It’s his decision making. I don’t know what’s going on between the ears but whatever it is, he needs to get right and fast. Until he does, batting anywhere other than 9th is criminal mismanagement.

I legitimately think you could pitch underhanded to him and he would read fast ball and let it rip 2 seconds early.

This doesn’t look like typical April Abreu shenanigans we have always heard about and saw last year. This is worse. Much much worse.
