11 Hours in Houton International Airport

Hi,

I’ll be in transit on George Bush International airport for 11 hours. The flight lands at 6 A.M. I don’t want to spend all of it inside the airport. Can you give me suggestions on what to do? Is a taxi the only option to go downtown (it seems to be expensive) or is there a cheaper way? If downtown isn’t an option I can go to a shopping mall /WalMart/Best Buy type shopping areas if they are close by.
