1.03: George Karlaftis
For the people who are assuming Evan Neal goes to Jacksonville: are you really looking into their OL situation?
They have Cam Robinson (who, admittedly, may not be re-signed as he’s due around 16 million a year). Even if he’s not, Walker Little is a viable LT who carries 2nd round draft capital (just last year they drafted him).
With Doug Pederson coming to town – there’ll be an emphasis on OL. Wouldn’t be surprised at all if this means paying Cam. Cam is a large OT from Bama – as is Neal. Would they really open up a problem, just to plug it with the same kind of solution? Again, they just spent a 2nd on Little – who looked good in limited action.I’m pretty confident the pick is not OL for Jacksonville at 1.01.
Jacksonville runs a wide 9, 3-4. Hutch predominantly ran a 3-4, and is much better at stopping the run than Thibs (let’s remember – the jags are in the same division as D Henry and J Taylor…hopefully we get a RB like this soon 🙂 ).
Hutch is a no drama, (seemingly) solid dude. After the Urban debacle, I don’t think they’re itching to sign up for Thibs’s shenanigans. I truly think Adam Hutchinson has a one way ticket to Jacksonville.
Now, Detroit:
Pass rush is in shambles. They need talent. Bad. A safety here is a luxury pick – something the lions can’t afford. Holmes has been pretty vocal about giving Goff another shot. Don’t see a QB here either (especially this year). Quite simply, it would be odd to not take Thibs if you’re Detroit.
So, realistically, we have:
1.01: Hutchinson 1.02: Thibs
Enter Houston.
Stingley hasn’t done a damn thing since 2019. Likely not a top three pick.
Hamilton could very well be the BPA – but I just don’t see Caserio pulling this trigger. We need a pass rush. Like Detroit, we need talent BAD, but can’t afford the luxury pick.
Who knows if Tunsil will get traded, but, like Jacksonville, we also have another guy In the wings who could be viable at LT: Tytus. Don’t think Neal/Ekwonu/Cross is the answer here.
So – what is the answer?
Lovie is renowned for his 4-3 scheme. If only there was a top 10 talent who fit this scheme like a glove…..
George Karlaftis.
I’ve seen virtually nothing about him on this sub and I don’t know why.
Tell me, why not George?
